Who will benefit from the course?

As an Art tutor, Colour Secrets of the Great Painters could provide a brand new course for your Art Department to attract new students. It will interface very well with other disciplines such as Art History, Design and Crafts.

As part of a Group of practising artists, Colour Secrets of the Great Painters will give you a basis for interaction and shared skills with your fellow artists.

As a sole practising Artist I hope it will fuel your imagination and give you some new tools to accomplish your individual goals.

What does the course cover?

The twelve Colour Discoveries take you through basic Colour Recognition and Colour Properties to advanced colour mixing and specialised palettes.

You will be guided through the colour palettes of more than 100 Great Painters. You will start to recognise colours instantly and see how they are used in their compositions.

My unique Orchard Arts Colour Mixing System shows you how to mix more than a million colours absolutely accurately every time with minimum tubes. This will save you time, money and energy and give you the results you want every time!

We look in detail at Colour Properties and how our Great Painters have used them. Then you can use them to move your work up to the levels of the Great Painters!

We also look at how our Great Painters have used Colour for Meaning. This is often an approach which is avoided by Critics but we will look at 30 plus paintings in detail and extract meaning, without resorting to Art History, just through analysing the compositions.

We look at specialised palettes in popular genres - Interiors, Landscape, Buildings and Humans. In 2021 another set covering Still Life, Animals, New Genres and Machine will be available.
